CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - NASA officials say they have completed repairs to a hydrogen gas vent line connected to the shuttle Endeavour's fuel tank and have given the OK for a Wednesday launch.
The potentially dangerous hydrogen gas leak prevented Endeavour and its seven astronauts from blasting off to the international space station on Saturday.
However, a shuttle launch before dawn on Wednesday means NASA must delay an unmanned moon mission for a few days. Two lunar probes were supposed to go up Wednesday afternoon.
Hydrogen gas began leaking from a vent line hookup on Endeavour’s external tank during fueling early Saturday, and the countdown was halted just hours before the scheduled morning liftoff.
